Formed in 2004 around the talents of Brent Meyer and Chris Willshire, Los Angeles-based Folio blend the high-energy attack of current modern rock outfits like <a href="spotify:artist:3WaJSfKnzc65VDgmj2zU8B">Interpol</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0C0XlULifJtAgn6ZNCW2eu">the Killers</a> with the vintage, keyboard-heavy atmospherics of classic new wave groups such as <a href="spotify:artist:0lZoBs4Pzo7R89JM9lxwoT">Duran Duran</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:762310PdDnwsDxAQxzQkfX">Depeche Mode</a>. Recording sessions with industry stalwarts like drummer Joey Waronker (<a href="spotify:artist:4STHEaNw4mPZ2tzheohgXB">Paul McCartney</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4KWTAlx2RvbpseOGMEmROg">R.E.M.</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3vbKDsSS70ZX9D2OcvbZmS">Beck</a>), guitarist <a href="spotify:artist:2nNBTVuxOW6ZpFtxf4vRT5">Lyle Workman</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:0Ty63ceoRnnJKVEYP0VQpk">Sting</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5Q8gM5SMBT2LAoZ5LzqAvH">Frank Black</a>), and analog synth god Roger Manning (<a href="spotify:artist:10flBVEy5MiUXOJWTaFsyL">Jellyfish</a>) followed, with plans to release the results in 2007.
