Formed in 2011 by long-time collaborators Lawrence Ang and Daren Lim, For You Insidious blends analog and digital production techniques to create its diverse repertoire of deep, brooding, electronic music.
FYI's debut release in 2012, "A Prelude", was an independent EP inspired by the group's earlier musical projects in the industrial and hard rock genres. Between 2013 and 2015, the duo released three singles, including "Got You Covered". "Little Naughty Number", and "Promises We Keep" which received significant airplay across radio and online platforms, garnering FYI its niched set of followers.
In 2016, the group collaborated with Diego Mapa (Pedicab/Tarsius) for a jungle glitch-inspired remix of the single "When These Kids Grow Up" released under Body Clock Records, with associated track and live visuals produced by Australian media artist Julianne Concepcion. In the same year, FYI collaborated with UK-based artist Skint Eastwood for the track "Adorex", with concept art provided by Ladytron's Reuben Wu.
In 2017, FYI began the finishing touches to their full-length album "Mirrors" to be released in full in 2018, with contributions and collaborations with BUN (Fumitake Tamura), Assembly Generals, JOLO, and Ey Ey.
