The stagecrushing str8 edge youth crew-machine that was Force of Change started in 1996, when 4 friends from Ibbenbüren/Germany decided to devote their energy and youthful recklessness to something positive and productive. So Phil, Dirk, Niko and Daniel started rehearsing in Daniels parents basements. Based on the music that pumped like blood through their veins, it was immediately clear, that they wanted to penetrate the neighbourhood (and the whole world) with positive youth-crew Hardcore, in the vein of Youth of today + Gorilla Biscuits, spiced with some Sick of it all and Lifetime. Because that was what these 14-17 year old morons got up and went to bed with - x-ed hands and stagedives. They chose Force of change as a name (stolen from the second Strife LP) and released two demo-tapes. Their friend Matze joined the crew in 1997 and from that on, the 5 piece-Str8-Edge-flagship became a staple for youth-crew hardcore in Germany + Europe the following years. After the release of the first 7" in 1998 they picked up steam, played the first shows in and outside of Germany and released their first LP "The Challenge“ in 2000, followed by many shows and their best known second LP "In the shadow of leaves" in 2003 on which Robin replaced Dirk on second guitar. After the release of their "Outstanding"-EP in 2005 the band came to an end, due to professional reasons. In the year 2010 they released a last Ep under the name Changes in a different cast. Grateful forever. Str8 Edge. FOC.
