Fountain began its humble origins under the pseudonym 'Cleaning Foggy Windows'. After a brief stint of numerous name-changes, Cleaning Foggy Windows reemerged as 'Impulse'. Headed by lead guitarist Rick Ball, Impulse also consisted of bassist and vocalist Josh Hildebrandt, pianist and co-drummer Sam Wieler, drummer Eli Snair, and saxist Sasha Snair. Soon after, David Jones joined, taking over as bass and co-co-drummer, prompting Josh to move to electric guitar. Impulse was flying high after their first live performance when tragedy struck - lead guitarist Rick Ball left the group. Along with Rick, Eli Snair quickly followed suite. Blindsided, the band was left directionless, but not broken. The four remaining members came together, and after a short hiatus, returned empowered and renamed as Fountain. Fountain quickly gained their stride, releasing hit after hit, including their most well known singles Pace and No Name. Encouraged by their string of success, Fountain returned to the studio (basement) to work on their freshman album. Moments -their first LP, was released less than a year later. The album was a huge success, with over 40 CD's made, and 2 sold. A year later, they released their first EP-Snow Drifts, which quickly surpassed their album in a matter of days. To top off their historic high, Fountain toured around Europe playing at sold out venues ranging from 3-8 people. Fountain has since been experimenting with new sounds, pushing the boundaries of their music.
