Derek Frank started with music at an early age. At the age of 5, he already had his own drumset and was sitting in with his dad's bands. He started taking drum lessons at age 8 and then his musical career started to bloom. Derek played in several groups through high school, and also starred in numerous school productions including the lead roll in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Big River, Aladdin, Babes in Arms, and several others. Frank then went on to be a percussion major at Eastern Illinois University. While attending EIU, Derek Frank started playing more guitar and singing as a front man.
