Bath-based and raised on classic soul and pop songwriting, Frankie Jones is an emerging artist drawing his sound from the classic Motown and soft rock artists of the 1970’s. His distinct fusion of the two worlds creates a unique yet classic sound, full of feel-good and relatable lyrical matter and strong grooves to drive his soulful melodies home. Drawing from his own life, Jones is clearly driven to question – and answer – the struggles and triumphs of the human experience.
Growing up the rural town of Shaftesbury, Dorset, he developed a fascination towards music when he was gifted a record player by his family, along with several records that would end up being huge inspirations within his music such as Stevie Wonder’s “Innervisions” and Billy Joel’s “The Stranger”. This obsession resulted in a fierce passion for jazz and soul music, which Jones takes and weaves into his playing, producing and performing to give the listener a universally warm and powerful sound.
