The South Coast of the UK has always been a vibrant source of electronic artists for many a long year, and at its beating heart is Brighton. With people like Carl Cox, The Freemasons and Fatboy Slim leading the way, it is hardly surprising that DJ Producers like Franz Koltren have picked up the baton and followed in their footsteps.
Growing up playing the guitar and exploring every detailed nuance of sound, Franz originally was consumed by the throb of hard rock and metal before discovering Electronic Music at university. Broadening his horizons beyond his initial diet of Richie Hawtin and Deadmau5, he began to learn and evolve as a producer and sound engineer to the point where he has been working for other artists for over 10 years.
Now prepared to stand on his own two feet and bring his own brand of House and Techno to a wider audience, there are no more aliases to hide behind as he takes ownership of his real name. Releasing the single Duke of Gonzo in Feb 2022, it was given a massive push by the hugely popular YouTube channel Blanc and got over 30,000 streams in its first month.
A Tech House chugger that appealed to the Underground and the authentic side of the minimal groove, it set the standard of expectation for the journey to come.
With so many tunes in his back pocket that will set the scene for a new clubbing experience, Franz Koltren is well on his way.
