The Vocoder Chronicles
Growing up in a small New England town, my musical journey began in the most unexpected place—a friend's basement at seventeen. There, among dusty boxes and forgotten electronics, I discovered something that would change my life forever: a vocoder.
But the story really starts earlier, in the late '90s, when French house music first found its way to my corner of the world. I was captivated by the robotic vocals, the infectious four-on-the-floor beats, and those unmistakable filter sweeps that defined the French touch sound. Daft Punk became more than just a favorite group—they became a blueprint for understanding how music could be both deeply electronic and profoundly human.

The Influence
My musical DNA is written in the language of French house. The influence runs deep:

The groove: Those relentless, funky basslines that make you move without thinking
The vocals: Heavily processed, pitch-shifted, vocodered—turning the human voice into another synthesizer
The filters: Sweeping, resonant, dynamic—making tracks breathe and evolve
The repetition: Understanding that with the right groove, repetition becomes hypnotic rather than boring
The production: That distinctive pumping sidechain compression, the analog warmth, the disco-influenced sampling techniques
