Fríða Hansen

Fríða Hansen is a musician and composer from Iceland. She started singing before she could talk and began writing stories and songs when she was 10 years old. Growing up on a farm in the south of Iceland she learned to ride horses and to enjoy the nature. She seeks inspiration in the various Icelandic mountains and grasslands.

As well as being a musician & composer, Fríða is also a horse trainer and a mother.

She released her first EP album in 2022 - Vaxtarverkir (e. Growing pains). It includes 6 new songs, written about her pregnancy journey up to her son's first year of life. The lyrics to the songs are very personal, and describe difficulties adjusting to a new way of living, as many new parents feel. The record goes through the whole set of emotions and with positivity as a guideline Fríða's experience changes as she gains trust in the whole progress called Life.

Fríða has released a couple of songs between 2022 and now, but now in may 2025 she is releasing her very first song in ENGLISH. Happy Place - is a song that she wrote with her friend and producer Halldór Gunnar Pálsson. The melody is very catchy and the production has both touches of pop and ambient folk/country music. The story line is one of friendship and love. Fríða recommends all her listeners to give it a listen, as it may brighten their day and lift their spirits, and maybe even encourage you to give a good friend a call.
