FTP

FTP is a Cameroonian MC and b-boy, born in Douala he's been based in Ndjamena, Chad since 2013 where he has made himself a name as a prolific and battle-tested rapper. He is one of the several artists that have joined HAPE when the collective reached N’Djamena in 2017. FTP featured in Pulo NDJ’s debut album Desert to Douala, released in 2019 by Wonderwheel Recordings, with two hits Un Jour and Clandoman.Lowup and HAPE Collective are proud to present FTP's first EP, an Afro European collaboration between Tchad based MC FTP and Italian producer, DJ and musician Go Dugong. Both up-tempo rollers combine the conscious urban swag and ‘francam’ (French Cameroonian) lingo of young Cameroon born and Ndjamena-based MC FTP with Go Dugong’s production mixing traditional African balafon and drumming with thumping Afro-trap beats.
Mutumbu is Lain over a hypnotic balafon loop and synth reminiscent of 90s house, the song narrates the initiation rituals of traditional African society as a metaphor for the quest to face one’s inner demons.
Munschon (Joker) is a track where FTP resorts to his signature urban ‘francam’ dialect, celebrating hard work and talent as keys to success, your way to ‘pull the joker’ on your way to happiness.
