Fuca is a multi-instrumentalist musician, composer, educator, mixing engineer, and arranger. He began his professional music career at 17 in Ubatuba/SP, where he resides, playing in the carnival march band of Coreto da Igreja Matriz. He started his double bass studies with Frederico Zimmermann Aranha and his guitar studies in the FundArt's free popular guitar course. He studied popular guitar with professor Daniel Feijó and flamenco guitar with Flávio Rodrigues; composition, harmony in Popular Music/Jazz, and arranging with Frederico Zimmermann Aranha; double bass with Gabriel Bahlis (at the School of Music of the State of São Paulo – EMESP in 2011), with Adriano Sambatti, and with Bruno Aguilar (2023). Since the second semester of 2023, he has been studying electric/acoustic double bass in the 4th Cycle – Advanced Instrumental Practice at EMESP, taking instrument lessons with the renowned double bassist Sizão Machado, and ensemble practice classes with professors Toninho Ferragutti and Guilherme Ribeiro.
Fuca has been a part of various musical groups and has accompanied almost all artists from Ubatuba in different styles. As a founder, he created the groups “Quinteto Oblóquio” (2016), “Razambru Jazz” (2017), “Tiê-Trio” (2013), “Rafael Furtado Trio” (2017), “Quinteto Yperoig” (2018), “Banda 70 Brasil” (2019), “Fuca Quarteto” (2021), “Uba Jazz Trio” (2021), and “Coletivo Instrumental” (2023).
