Building a multi-dimensional catalogue of music, Sthembi has been one of the West Coast underground music scene’s best-kept secrets, performing under his former moniker, Futon Don. Pioneering the underground, he collaborated with none other than the iconic meme-rapper BBNO$ on hip-hop tracks such as “Coastin’”, “Ferrari Fitness” and “What A Day”. These collaborations cemented Sthembi as a songwriter, producer and local rap force to be reckoned with.
Born in South Africa during the apartheid regime, he and his family arrived in Canada as refugees, which has built a resilient and adaptable Sthembi, who still perseveres in his chosen art form. Sthembi aims to captivate his audience with moody, melodic flows, topped with out-of-this-world lyricism and storytelling.
