It’s hard to catch a wild thing…a mustang, smoke, the wind - the dream I have 'em all beat. I think that’s what turns me on most.
My dad’s side of the family was full of blue collar Arkansas bred men, I had a mamaw with an accent thick as golden molases, my mom was raised on the road by carneys.
That gypsi pilot light was always burning low in me so I traded a small town in Arkansas full of pine trees, for concrete and midnight lights at 19. I knew it would be LA, Nashville or New York and I knew my truck could make it to Nashville.
It’s a drug the first time you hear the sound that you always had in your head come across the speakers. This first pack of songs blends together the influence of my lyrical heroes - guys like Springsteen, Seger…just true American poets. I'm hoping to be as good as them one day.
It shoots from the hip with below the belt rock ’n’ roll, sonics that stretch, push and pull. Trying to find out what it means to be young and stay young. We just chase instinct, emotion, truth without compromise - what feels right.
