Gábor Horváth Trio

Last updated: 5 days ago

Pianist and composer Gábor Horváth has built a distinctive musical voice over more than a decade on Hungarian and international stages. He is the founder of Transform Quintet and has performed and toured with acclaimed American jazz pianist Joey Calderazzo, known for his work with Michael Brecker and the Branford Marsalis Quartet. Their musical connection led to the recording of Another Child, featuring Calderazzo alongside Transform Quintet.
At the heart of Gábor Horváth Trio is an acoustic, jazz-rooted sound that draws inspiration from a wide range of musical worlds, including film scores, pop, folk, and classical music. Blending playful energy, musical wit, and emotional depth, the trio moves effortlessly between rhythmically driven compositions, expansive improvisations, and evocative ballads. Gábor’s compositions paint vivid sonic landscapes, capturing moods and emotions with clarity and intensity, brought to life by the trio’s expressive interplay and instrumental precision.
The trio’s albums are always created around a concept. "Soundtrack " explored the world of film music, while "Tricks" ventured into the fascinating realm of magic and card tricks. "Multiverse", drawing inspiration from the universe, astronomy, and theoretical physics. Their latest album "Moonlight Whisper" blends Greek, Brazilian, Bulgarian, African, and Hungarian musical influences with the trio’s distinctive sound, joined by the 25 member Cheeky Choir.
