Gabriela Pimentel

I am Gabriela Pimentel, singer and composer, the eldest child of the biggest Brazilian family that emigrated to Netherland in 2001. Mother, father and seven children. A family dedicated to the rhythms and culture of Brazil in Europe. A musical family called Kriya Família, named so by my father, a very original and creative percussion player who tries to inspire every body around him using his peculiar sounds and collective way of health living.

It took me a long time to get here and be able to share my own compositions, my creations and visions. But now is my turn to build my own artistical history. I’m glad to present my first album: Brasileira, wich means Brazilian. That was a good way to introduce myself and emphasize the land I come from, my roots, my origin, the place I was born, my nationality. Apparently my red hair and light redish skin with freckles makes me look something else. In the end I want you to hear and see that I’m Brazilian and I’m gonna show you that through the music that comes out my heart, my mouth, my body and soul.

My music is a mix of different genres as samba, capoeira, baião, forró, maxixe and dreamy ballads. It feets in the category world music and matches with people that likes pure and exotic sounds.
