“Galaxy Drop” is the brainchild of Swiss composer and musician Christian Merki.
His first musical project, in the early 2000’s is called “Midimal” and brought a first wave of international recognition and exposure in the psychedelic music scene to Christian.
With celebrated performances at festivals like Ozora festival and after two albums released as “Midimal”, Christian felt his musical expression was bringing him towards a slower paced, more thought-provoking realm of sounds. It was the time to explore a different project.
Time for a “Galaxy Drop”. Something so uniquely different yet so straightforwardly familiar that it makes total sense, right from the start. Like meeting an old friend you never knew existed. Or hearing a language for the first time and being perfectly fluent in it.
o inject the widest palette of emotions and entertainment into his live performances, Christian embarked a full band of sonic astronauts and musical vagabonds in his “Galaxy Drop & Band” project. Linus joined on the drums, Amadeus took the bass, Roberto and Giuli the guitar, and a loadfull of guest performers jumped into the show! The “Galaxy Drop & Band” was formed. It was set to grow into a wild child. Taking the world scene by storm in emotions and feelings.
