Gareth John is a man with a lifelong love of all things swing, jazz, R&B, Soul, Rock n roll and funk. With a voice influenced by Bobby Darin, Harry Connick Jr, Jamie Cullum, Michael Buble, Mel Torme, Matt Monro and many others, Gareth is a born performer. A singer, trumpet player, multi-instrumentalist and entertainer, he released his debut album, <a href="spotify:album:4JhL44AJHkCSIo4dwSRExd" data-name="As Long As I'm Singing">As Long As I'm Singing</a> in 2018. He has since toured extensively as a solo artist, writing his own material as well as performing songs from theGreat American Song Book.
Gareth is also bandleader, co-lead singer and trumpet player for New Orleans inspired outfit <a href="spotify:artist:50FIUjgMy7YhmhMKibX7Eg" data-name="King Brasstards">King Brasstards</a>, which he co-founded in 2015. They have several singles under their belt including collaborations with trombone superstar Dennis Rollins and Freak Power’s Ashley Slater and two acclaimed albums.
Since his debut album, which included the title track by Bobby Darin, original single ‘The Word’ and two duets with former Beautiful South singer Alison Wheeler, he has released a duo EP in 2019, <a href="spotify:album:2QSt4yoazDfyUktOb1mAj7" data-name="It Takes Two">It Takes Two</a>, featuring his take on standards ‘Smile’ and ‘I Only Have Eyes For You’ and is currently finishing the follow up, ‘The Other Side’, with the first single, the self-penned ‘Don’t Let It Go’ out on 14th June 2020. Alongside his music, he is the founder and host of ‘On The Road With...’ a brand new podcast in which Gareth sits down with touring professionals from the performing arts and entertainment industries, available on Spotify and other podcast providers.
