Garrett Morris

Garrett Morris, while a newcomer to the music industry, is by no means a stranger to music given his family’s connections, nor is he unfamiliar to his share of Saturday Night Live name references to the comedian <a href="spotify:artist:77p8ZebCqsdAJvaWvWFmBO" data-name="Garrett Morris">Garrett Morris</a>. Growing up in one of California&#39;s first small logging towns, his hometown of La Honda is what many call a “Separate Place.” Artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:74ASZWbe4lXaubB36ztrGX" data-name="Bob Dylan">Bob Dylan</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1CYsQCypByMVgnv17qsSbQ" data-name="Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; Young">Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; Young</a> &amp; countless others who found it have found inspiration there. <a href="spotify:artist:6v8FB84lnmJs434UJf2Mrm" data-name="Neil Young">Neil Young</a> even wrote a song about Garrett’s mom, “<a href="spotify:track:5Hh8DDJl3NgeDZfwps18AR" data-name="Like a hurricane">Like a hurricane</a>” after one night in the town. Garrett reached out to “La Honda Records” (<a href="spotify:artist:3xYXYzm9H3RzyQgBrYwIcx" data-name="Colter Wall">Colter Wall</a> &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:2TbbmB7fmmCN7rlOt1wHlC" data-name="Vincent Neil Emerson">Vincent Neil Emerson</a>), but after a rejection realized being from La Honda he didn’t need a label.


With a mix of rock, country, blues, &amp; everything in between, Garrett’s music has a signature all his own albeit forged &amp; built on a foundation from his dad Henry Morris who played with <a href="spotify:artist:6GI52t8N5F02MxU0g5U69P" data-name="Santana">Santana</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0JCxGVxsISZzJHJPUOtceB" data-name="Tower Of Power">Tower Of Power</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3LmdSHbQzMs8ZL0GVGpwXb" data-name="The Sons Of Champlin">The Sons Of Champlin</a>, etc., as well as his uncle Scott Morris who drummed for <a href="spotify:artist:0rvjqX7ttXeg3mTy8Xscbt" data-name="Journey">Journey</a> and jammed w/ the <a href="spotify:artist:4wQ3PyMz3WwJGI5uEqHUVR" data-name="Allman Brothers Band">Allman Brothers Band</a>. Growing up with 60’s rock n’ roll and others such as: <a href="spotify:artist:7x8nK0m0cP2ksQf0mjWdPS" data-name="Dierks Bentley">Dierks Bentley</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1AeC9AuzqGc3IXMC2T5xny" data-name="Zakk Wylde">Zakk Wylde</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4YLtscXsxbVgi031ovDDdh" data-name="Chris Stapleton">Chris Stapleton</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:29ijED2bnnprp2TciAK1aO" data-name="Drake White">Drake White</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5rX1EodZfwxmW4fQX2Caot" data-name="Jonny Lang">Jonny Lang</a>, &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:2AM4ilv6UzW0uMRuqKtDgN" data-name="ZZ Top">ZZ Top</a>, helped his sound as well. His Grandpa Jimmy Rae was also an acrobat who did handstands atop the Eiffel Tower in France &amp; performed the world over in vaudeville. Garretts sound &amp; style has been shaped from a lineage of musicians and performers of which can be heard in his original songs and songwriting.
