Gary Meister is an award-winning composer, music producer and musician, and founder/owner of Naturalistic Music + Sound (naturalistic.net), an NYC-based production company that creates original music for film, TV, podcasts, advertising, virtual reality & emerging media.
His credits include Joe’s Violin (2017 Oscar Nom., Best Doc. Short), In The Dark (2X Peabody Award winner), The New Yorker Presents (Amazon), Death Row Stories (CNN), Queer Eye For The Straight Guy (Bravo), The Franchise (Showtime), A League Of Ordinary Gentlemen (Magnolia Pictures), Sesame Street, Serpentine Pink, The Tudors, Locked Up (Discovery), Weeds, Making Dazed (AMC), Everyday Food (Martha Stewart Omnimedia), Eavesdropping With Alan Cumming (Oxygen) & Sportsfan (Busboy Prod/Jon Stewart), among others.
He has created music for a wide range of media companies incl. HBO, Showtime, Amazon, NBC, CBS, TED, VH1, MTV, Magnolia Pictures, Discovery, Bravo, Jigsaw Prod./ Alex Gibney, CNN, MLB Productions, Nickelodeon, Oxygen, The Movie Channel, TLC, AMC, PBS &The Movie Channel, among others.
He was the singer-songwriter/guitarist of You And What Army (Best Power Pop Band, NY Press), & produced their album “Kinda Wanna” which garnered rave reviews and extensive airplay. He has studied gamelan music in Bali, & is a member of the gamelan ensemble Darma Swara, whose accomplishments include sold out shows at Lincoln Center & Central Park’s Summerstage, & has worked with pioneering ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax.
