Caira is the firestarter behind Gates of Hell, a metal project forged in survival, truth, and emotional power.
As the founder, frontwoman, and creative visionary, she writes all the lyrics, performs vocals, plays bass and electric guitar, contributes to mixing and recording, and shapes the visual world of the project. Every album cover and music video reflects her direction and identity. Gates of Hell is her story.
The music draws from a wide range of metal and alternative influences, resisting easy categorisation. Caira’s vocals are high, airy, and haunting, carrying both fragility and force. These are often contrasted with gritty, strained male vocals to create a sense of duality and tension that mirrors the themes in her writing.
Her songs are deeply introspective, often written in the aftermath of emotional abuse and the desire to grow. She writes from lived experience, giving voice to the silenced and turning sensitivity into strength. Her music stands for those who have been told they are too much, too soft, or too complicated. Gates of Hell proves that feeling deeply is not a weakness. It is a strength.
The project features session musicians, including Primitive Drums on percussion. Former collaborator Benjamin Lockett contributed during its early stages.
She called it Gates of Hell because she has walked through it. They tried to burn her to ashes, but she rose stronger, brigher, and burning with purpose. Now she wears the flame.
