Gavin Buckley is an Irish guitarist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Girona, Spain.
Originally from Limerick, with a deep passion for both Irish and flamenco traditions, Gavin weaves together sounds from the Celtic world and the Mediterranean with a unique, genre-crossing touch.
Gavin is the first Irish musician to earn a Master’s in Flamenco Performance (ESMUC, Barcelona), also studying at the Liceu Conservatory (Barcelona), the Bloom School of Jazz (Chicago), and LMS (London), where he was named Guitarist of the Year.
In Spain he has worked with bands including the Catalan folk group Els Berros de la Cort & flamenco ensemble Amarende. Recently, he joined the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra as solo banjoist for performances at El Palau de la Música.
Now turning toward his solo work, Gavin is preparing to release his debut Irish guitar album — a reflective, acoustic journey rooted in heritage and shaped by years of global collaboration. The single, “Hector the Hero” offers a glimpse of what’s to come.
