General Tchefary, a descendant of the renowned Almamy Samory Touré, a key figure in resisting French colonization in sub-Saharan Africa, found his path in music after losing his father at a young age.

Hailing from Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and now based in the desert Southwest, this International African Roots Reggae artist has been spreading powerful messages through his music since 1998. Singing in five languages, General Tchefary blends traditional African melodies with Jamaican reggae to create his unique "African Roots Reggae," drawing inspiration from legends like Bob Marley, Alpha Blondy, and Lucky Dube.

His accolades include a nomination for Best Artist of the Diaspora at the 225 Reggae Music Awards in 2018 and securing 3rd place in the prestigious Reggae Victory Awards 2021, African Artist of the Year category, alongside icons Tiken Jah Fakoly and Burna Boy. His third album, "Jah is Love", released in 2019, explores themes of faith, love, humanity, immigration, and socio-political issues.
