Not only is George Children from Southern California, they are from the Inland Empire. The tenderness of the songs on the "Kitchen Sink Drama" cassette are a stark reminder that beauty and emotion can blossom in the most mundane beige landscape of the Inland Empire. George Children is as much of a full band outfit as it is the solo project of Jordan Chipman. Shuffling between full band rock n' roll sets to stripped down acoustic solo shows, the common thread is the song writing of Jordan Chipman. Every song is crafted with a hook and leaves you humming along upon the next listen. "Kitchen Sink Drama" lends itself to draw from the likes of later Big Star, Bill Fox and Guided By Voices (hence the GBV cover on this cassette). This cassette shows off the incredible range of song craftsmanship and dare I say, might leave you asking yourself "Bill Fox who?".
