George Kano

George Kano is a Jazz/Funk drummer and music producer.

George Kano began his career in the late 90s and since then has played in a wide variety of recordings such as the Final Fantasy OST, London Elektricity, Kaleidoscopio and many others. His more than 500 drum lessons on YouTube are popular among drummers all over the world.

George is also well-known as a member of i-dep and sotte bosse, a mixed style of electro music, jazz, funk, and bossa nova; they performed on TV, radio, live tours and festivals. George, with i-dep, has performed at South By Southwest (SXSW) in the US, Texas and Summer Sonic in Japan. He got the Prix Feq Award when i-dep performed at The Festival d'été de Québec (FEQ) in Canada, 2019.

In April 2021, George started his solo project and also started the “George Kano Experience” with Yuki “T - Groove” Takahashi.

大学在学中よりプロ活動を開始。以来20数年に渡りJazztronik、Mondo Grosso、ファイナルファンタジー・オリジナルサウンドトラックなど、ジャンルを問わず幅広いレコーディング作品に参加しているセッションドラマー / スタジオミュージシャン。特にラテン、ジャズ系ドラミングに定評があり、YouTubeで見られる500以上のドラムレッスン動画は、世界中のドラマーからアクセスされている。

Sotte Bosseメンバーとして、日比谷野音、恵比寿ガーデンホール等でのワンマンライブほか、ミュージックステーションを始めとするＴＶ、ラジオ等に出演。i-depメンバーとして、SUMMER SONICなどの国内大型フェス、アメリカ・テキサス州で開催されるSouth By Southwest（SXSW）などの海外フェスにも参加。2019年にはカナダ・ケベック市のThe Festival d'été de Québec（FEQ）に出演し、FEQ優秀賞を受賞。

 2021年よりソロプロジェクト始動。T - Groove との共同プロジェクト、George Kano Experienceも開始し、JAZZ、HipHop、NeoSoul、R&B、Psychedelic、Discoなどジャンルをまたいだ楽曲制作を行なっている。
