Geraldines

Rock band Geraldines from Mechelen (Belgium) played its first shows in 2013. After several EPs, the band released its first full-length album in 2020: NEVER WORRY ALWAYS WORRY. Unfortunately 2020 was the year of COVID. Most shows were canceled and the songs on NEVER WORRY ALWAYS WORRY barely got time on a stage. The band felt in 2021 that it had run out of steam. The plug was pulled and the band members focused on other things in life.

But: the band members ultimately couldn't leave the band behind. And so the idea for REAL DINGES (translation: real stuff) was born. REAL DINGES is an anagram for the band's name, but above all synonymous for a new road, the biggest condition being that the band would completely do its own thing. Without regard to time constraints, studios, radio friendliness, common song structures or other inhibitions.

Geraldines worked on dozens of songs, bought recording gear and discarded previous studio recordings. The fat was cut from the songs, until only the purest remained. The result had to be music that all band members support and that perfectly represents what Geraldines is after eleven years. And they succeeded: REAL DINGES has become an impressive project with nearly two dozen creations. Sometimes rough and shorter than is common in today's streaming era, but 100% authentic. Real stuff.

Geraldines are currently finishing REAL DINGES. The full album will be released 29th November 2024 through UhmYeahSure Records.
