Gerhard Trede was born January 17, 1917 in Hamburg and died September 30, 1996 in Hamburg. He was a composer, arranger and conductor. Gerhard Trede skillfully composed the entire music for the German Wochenschauen (weekly cinema newsreels) of the 50s and 60s. Everyone in Germany knew his fast-paced sports themes, his serious music for political segments and state visits, as well as his whimsical big band recordings for children and everyday life. Luckily, a majority of these old recordings were saved. Mainly released via Selected Sounds Song Library and other outlets.His music is used in uncountable TV series like Spongebob, for talkshows like Conan O´Brian as well as for video games and several Hollywood movies.
