Gerhart which means "Brave heart", is a new age classic rock band with members from Dyer, Indiana. Kevin Badten (Lead vocals, Bass), Nick Smith (drums), and Drew Burrell (guitar, back up vocals). Originated in 2011 while they were still in their teens when they won several :Battle of the Bands" in the region and received praise and accolades from various media including X-Rock correspondent, Tom Lounges. They have been publicized in The Times, Tribune, NWI Entertainer, NWI musicians and Region music. They have made guest appearances on many local radio stations. Featured in the show, "Night of the Living Jam". They regularly play in the region at multiple establishments, festivals, fairs and benefits. They have played at the Chicago Congress theater and held the privilege on two occasions playing at the amphitheater "The Rave" as opening acts for band "Alice in Chains" and "Black Label Society". They cover a wide variety of favorite classic rock bands from the 60s to present. The essence of their original sound can be described as a combination of modern and reimagined classic rock with perfect timing and unique synchronicity. Gerhart has been influenced and mostly compared to bands Led Zeppelin with their eclectic, psychedelic feel, AC/DC's high energy, and Black Sabbath's tone and groove.
