Prior to releasing their first single in 2007, the London-based band Ghosts had gone by the name of Polanski and released a handful of small-pressing singles. Drummer Jonny Harris, vocalist/guitarist Simon Pettigrew, bassist Robbie Smith, and keyboardist Mark Treasure switched to Ghosts; signed by Atlantic, the quartet wrote the majority of the material for their first album, 2007's generally light and upbeat The World Is Outside, while spending time at a Swedish cottage. Just over a month after the album's release, the band was picked to open for Keane at the London's O2 Arena -- their biggest gig to date. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
