Brad Byram, the creative force behind GHSTFLSH, has built a diverse musical journey that emphasizes one core truth: the song comes first, regardless of genre or instrument.
Growing up in rural Southeast Texas, Brad was influenced by a blend of 70s and 80s country, late-night rock broadcasts, and occasional pirate radio stations showcasing everything from zydeco to heavy metal. His passion blossomed as a teenager when he and his twin brother formed a band inspired by 80s hair metal, with Brad picking up the bass to channel his inner Nikki Sixx.
His musical career took off in 1994 with bands Train of Thought and Ugly Tribe, leading to a signing with Cage Records and performances alongside legends like Deep Purple. After a successful showcase at South by Southwest, Brad made Austin, the “live music capital of the world,” his home.
As a member of Canvas, Brad experienced a decade of regional success, touring extensively and producing catchy hits that gained airplay across Texas. Following Canvas, he showcased his versatility by collaborating with artists like Johnny Goudie and Spencer Gibb, while his project Shapescenes earned rave reviews and built a loyal local following.
The future is bright for Brad and GHSTFLSH, with the new album “you found me, like music from another room,” set for release on August 12, 2024, alongside three preview singles. Join him on this ever-evolving journey where change is constant, and the song remains paramount.
