Gianluca Zanna's own musical journey began in Italy, where he was born in Rome. From the young age of 10, he grew up in the Italian National Boarding School "Convitto Nazionale," and then through the elite Military Academy Nunziatella, . During his Convitto Nazionale boarding school experience, Gianluca discovered the magic of music--he could fly away to another universe. From that point on, instead of playing soccer, he wrote songs--both lyrics and melody. He serendipitously found some old instruments in the attic of the school, and using them, he taught himself how to play a bit of guitar, bass, and drum. At that same time, as a young teenager, Gianluca studied Ancient Latin and Ancient Greek, where he discovered a love for the great Italian poets of the classical past. After a past of world traveling and windsurfing that you can feel in his songs, still in Italy, Since he came to America, Gianluca has wrote, published and produced over 100 songs available all over the world
Just recently Gianluca has met Brian Reeves, one of the most famous and exceptional sound engineer in the world. among his credits Donna Summer, U2, Billy Idol, Giorgio Moroder, Joe Cocker just to mention some. Interesting fact: Brian was the man who produced the sound of some of the songs that kept Gianluca alive and sane when he was a teenager and now Brian is mixing some of Gianluca\s latest songs “I want to Know”, “Storm Remix” “I am Remix” just to name some. www.GianlucaZanna.com
