Born Godsgift Afele in Ekpoma to middle class parents as the only boy child among four girls, Gift spent a large chunk of his life in Ekpoma, Edo state before relocating to Lagos the hub of entertainment in Nigeria to chase his passion.

Starting off begrudgingly as a chorister in church, Giftty further discovered his talent in secondary school through singing other people’s songs and getting compliments from people around him. A tribute recorded for a classmate who lost her life solidified his penmanship and delivery among his peers. This gave him popularity through his days in secondary school before he proceeded to Ambrose Alli university Ekpoma where he studied theater arts.

He was unveiled in 2017 through a Mr Eazi assisted single Lori Okada which drew the attention of Afrobeats enthusiasts and critics. Since then, he has gone to create an impression of one who carefully curates his music through nostalgic delivery.

With a genre that can be classified as Afro-soul, Giftty sings from the soul to the soul drawing inspiration from the greats like Micheal Jackson, Phil Collins and Afrobeats trailblazers like Wande Coal, Wizkid, Ckay, Joeboy, Omah Lay among a plethora of soul artists around the globe.

Taking pride in a reputable catalog and collaborations with artists like Mr Eazi, Yung L, Dammy Krane, Raybekah, Reekado Banks etc. Giftty has been able to amass for himself a sizable and loyal community of people who appreciate his art.
