Gil Kafka

Thank you for your interest in Gil Kafka the artist. I write songs. It is one of the great pleasures of my life. I can only hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoy creating them. I have done a fair share of gigging in the last 20 odd years both as a pop/rock/R&B guitarist and as a jazz guitarist. On occasion I would play something I wrote here and there but I put most of my original music in the drawer for the last 16 years. With the times the way they are, it has been difficult as a performing musician so I thought it might be time to share some of my creations with you. More music is on the way so stay tuned.

I grew up in an immigrant household and my parents celebrated all kinds of "American" music. They loved life, took it easy and appreciated the freedom that came with living in Canada. You could say that comes across in my music. I have gone through many phases and periods in my musical explorations. There are too many genres and artists to mention that have had a major impact on me as an artist. So what do I sound like? I will let you be the judge of that.
