Floridian songbird Gileah Taylor is back with an epilogue to 2024’s Slow Parade. The four song EP - titled I Call This One - is a tip of of the hat to the singer songwriters over the last century who have stood on stage, guitar in hand, and introduced their next song with the words, “I call this one…”
Producers Gideon and Gabe Klein recorded Gileah at their studio in Gallatin, TN. Gideon played everything with strings and was joined by his wife Josée Klein on the string arrangements. Gabe played drums, keys and sang BGVs as well as mixed the EP.
These songs find Gileah in a place where everything in life feels too much the same and at the same time too much to handle. As always, she sings about what she feels and also sings about what she hopes for. The Klein brothers perfectly match the songs with their instrumentation: simply sweet, straightforward and full of heart, echoing the music that came out of Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and 70s.
