Recently signed to Rexius Records, Brooklyn-based composer Gillian Fox Orwoll has spent the past sixteen years honing her skills in composition, songwriting, and performing. She’ll be releasing two songs under the name <a href="spotify:artist:2UkEOaniwbhLHEg3r1wl4h" data-name="Fox Indigo">Fox Indigo</a> later this year through Sweden-based label Rexius Records. She also recently finished writing her first full-length musical, Bloom, which she plans to produce and star in later this year.
She recently completed writing music for an upcoming online 2D platformer game by Fitbear Games. She founded Get Carried Away Event Management, an organization that hosts its own events centered on highlighting performances by women, POC, and LGBTQ artists. In 2018, she hosted the Get Carried Away Festival Cruise, a music festival held on a yacht in the East River.
She has experience writing for musical theater, jazz ensembles, symphony orchestras, chamber groups, folk bands, and rock outfits. She has also scored numerous short films and independent video games. She’s studied the cello, mandolin, guitar, voice, banjo, ukulele, and drums.
She has a Bachelor’s in Music Business & Piano Performance from the Crane School of Music and is currently working towards her MFA in Film Music Composition at Brooklyn College.
