Gio John is your messy gay brother navigating life in his 20s. Encapsulated in dance-friendly tunes, he describes his musical style as social media pop infused with skater punk, incorporating teen and bedroom rock undertones.
On Feb 5, Gio John released his debut single titled “Yours” which celebrates an interracial LGBT relationship.
His second release was a collaboration with Jamila Licup titled "conversation" which discusses social anxiety within introverted people who seek intimate connections. Upon release, the song was featured in “New Music Friday Philippines”, his editorial playlist debut.
"Birthday Suit" was another collaboration with Sydney-based producer; Genesis and past X-Factor contestant Erin Miranda. The hip-hop-acoustic track was also selected to be a part of "New Music Friday Philippines" on debut. His second song to be selected in a Spotify editorial playlist.
Lastly, his 2024 Social media pop track;"Str8." debuted at "New Music Friday Philippines" where John is seen hyperbolising the false idea that gay men are infatuated by all straight men .
Gio John decided to pursue his artistic endeavours in hopes to further represent the LGBT and Asian community in the Punk Music Scene, his influences include blink-182, Paramore, The All-American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, Sum 41 and Big Time Rush
Notable credentials he has is writing and producing with Christian Lo Russo (Amy Merideth, 5sos) and JP Fung (Reece Mastin) in the 2016 Songmakers Workshop with APRA
