Composer and pianist, Giovanni Guaccero was born in 1966 in Rome. He operates in the areas of contemporary classical music and popular music. He attended Rome's Conservatorio Santa Cecilia and he went on to graduate in Composition with Luciano Pelosi in 1995. Having grown up in Rome in the milieu of the association Nuova Consonanza he has worked with some of the most important artists in Italy, including Enzo Siciliano, Ennio Morricone, Giovanna Marini. He has written chamber music, orchestral music and choral music. He teaches Elements of Composition at Campobasso's Conservatorio. In addition to his work in classical contemporary music, he has long been a devotee of Música Popular Brasileira. In the presentation in the booklet of his CD “A roda dos planetas errantes” (AlfaMusic, 2016), Guinga wrote: "Brazilian music is proud to influence an artist of such talent […]. A record which is extremely consistent and aesthetically perfect." In 2014 he recorded the piano accompaniment to the voice of Chico Buarque de Hollanda, on the carioca artist's piece “Senza te” (Sem você 2). In 2017 he organized seminars with Gilberto Gil e Yamandu Costa at Reggio Calabria’s Conservatorio, where in 2019 he organized also the conference “Lo choro brasiliano”, of which he edited the proceedings, published in 2023. He played also with Fred Martins, Henrique Cazes, Henrique Neto, Tatiana Valle, Choro de Rua, Gilson Silveira, Carlos César Motta, Massimo Aureli, Gabriele Coen, Roberta Piccirillo.
