girlboss is Lucy Botting, Darian Woods, Douglas Kelly and Olivia Campion. They live in Wellington, New Zealand.
Lucy Botting had been taught to sing other people’s music since the age of six. She wanted this to be her project. She learned guitar, and started writing and recording under the name girlboss. The music was drawn up from the mists of reality television shows, childhood movies, and mixtape tremolo. It had a confidence that was also soft, centred around Lucy’s vision.
Texas music blog Gorilla vs. Bear first picked up on an early demo, <a href="spotify:album:2kByWHPw0aABM3IsgejUmU" data-name="Mrs. Doubtfire">Mrs. Doubtfire</a>.
