Giorgos Avramidis is a Greek trumpeter, composer, lyricist and singer-songwriter with a long-standing presence in the Greek music scene. Born in Thessaloniki he began his musical journey at an early age and has developed into one of the most distinctive voices of Greece’s contemporary creative music landscape.
Throughout his career he has collaborated with prominent artists and bands including Giannis Aggelakas, as well as the groups EKMEK, POLKAR.His distinctive trumpet sound blends elements of jazz, rock, improvisation, and contemporary Greek music, creating a unique and recognizable artistic identity.
Alongside his collaborations, Avramidis has pursued a consistent solo recording career with albums such as Protocol, Voyager, Invented Memories, Giortaste Elefthera, Epileptic Light and his more recent releases Amochana and Eimai Kala. Through these works, he explores the intersection of jazz, rock, and contemporary songwriting, placing particular emphasis on lyricism improvisation and personal storytelling.
With Amichana Lavara and Eimai Kala Avramidis took a significant artistic step forward fully embracing the role of singer-songwriter by writing the music and lyrics and performing the material himself.
As a composer performer and songwriter Giorgos Avramidis continues to create original music and present compelling live performances constantly exploring new forms of artistic expression while establishing himself as a distinctive figure in contemporary Greek music.
