Glam Sam And His Combo, the Swedish groove-jazz mastermind, joins forces with UK singer-songwriter Angelina for an exciting new collaboration. A fusion of jazz, funk, soul, folk and blues, this dynamic project offers a unique musical journey, showcasing the versatile talents of both artists.
Mr Glam Sam came across Angelina’s soulful vocals while listening to the debut LP from the cool Monks Road Social project. With tracks featuring artists like Dr. Robert of The Blow Monkeys and Mick Talbot of The Style Council, he was instantly captivated Angelina's voice, particularly the song Golden Day which she had written with Miles Copeland. After hearing it, Mats was eager to connect with her.
“I reached out to Angelina straight away,” says Mats/Mr Glam Sam. “Her voice just bowled me over. It's so cool and unique. I just had to work with her.”
The result is a collection of tracks where both artists experiment and evolve with their sound. The four songs so far – Sweet Summer Nights, Talk In Colour, Blood Red Stone and Runaway Trains – are presented in two unique versions, showcasing the creative chemistry between Mats’ production and Angelina’s vocals.
