Glass House Mountain is an electronic music duo based in Melbourne, Australia, made up of members Benjamin Graham and James O’Brien. Glass House Mountain make texture-heavy, rhythmically orientated music that freely mixes electronic and acoustic components with influences from ambient, techno, pop and jazz. Originally meeting while performing as the rhythm section for a psychedelic country singer O’Brien and Graham soon realised they had a shared interest in electronic music. Two rehearsals in to developing a live set and Covid-19 arrived. The duo adapted accordingly, creating hours of soundscapes and beats separately in their respective homes while collaborating via dropbox and zoom. Eventually this music was whittled down to a forthcoming 6 six track E.P. Now Glass House Mountain present ‘Perspective I’, the first taste of their collaboration – a hypnotic, blissed-out track featuring a swirling mix of synths and acoustic instruments sitting somewhere between Mount Kimbie and Tycho. Glass House Mountain’s music is sound for all seasons, or as one early listener put it “it’s hard to not like Glass House Mountain, their tracks are food for the soul and the brain”.
