Ignore the Johnny Come Latelys who keep mistakenly adding their recent releases to this artist profile: Gnome, the original Gnome, were formed in Sydney in the mid 1990s when Spike and Hugh started collaborating on making music for a documentary about Vietnam.
They enjoyed it so much, the debut album "Who Needs Leprechauns?" was born out of sessions at Dreadnought studios in Oxford Falls.
Hugh and Spike then kept collaborating after both spending time performing and teaching music in Singapore.
The follow up album "Internetive" was recorded during Hugh's sixteen-year New York City stint as the two musicians sent files back and forth, and included a recording session in rural New South Wales.
Though Gnome have only released the two albums to date, more music is forthcoming as the two are still making music together.
