Gökhan Balık

Gökhan Balık (aka: JB Rocker) was born in a family of artists and academicians in Izmir, Turkey. He began singing, playing the piano and guitar at a very young age.

At 16 years old (as the youngest competitor), he won the 1st prize of the National Music Composing Competition with performing a live show in İstanbul (Jury: Garo Mafyan, Attila Özdemiroğlu, İzzet Öz, Faruk Eczacıbaşı, Emrehan Halıcı, Sedat Ergin, Borga Parlar, Hakan Özer and Şeref Oğuz).

Later on, Gökhan Balık (aka: JB Rocker) continued on writing, recording and arranging his own songs. He has performed with several bands at stages, radio programs and TV shows by singing and playing the guitar. He is a multi-instrumentalist musician, who records his own music at his home studio. He also covers rock songs by singing at social platforms.

He is inspired by many different musical styles such as Rock, Synthwave/Retrowave, Synth Pop, Modern Jazz, Classical Music, and Turkish Ethnic Music. He enjoys presenting original flavors by adding touches of different musical genres to his songs. He writes and sings both English and Turkish songs.

Besides music, Gökhan Balık (aka: JB Rocker) is an Assoc.Prof.Dr. of Landscape Architecture, Machine Learning Specialist and Python Developer.

Currently, Gökhan Balık (aka: JB Rocker) released a new single: ‘Break the Chains’.
