ggoldcobra is the ultimate alter-ego of Marcos Alfares.
Inspired by the 80’s, goldcobra presents himself at the end of 2017 with the single “Heartbreak Hotel [Forever Yours]".
“Forever Yours” will quickly give the first steps on the music scene, goes straight to several national radio stations and even get the nomination of one of the best national alternative songs of 2018.
2019 will be the year for goldcobra to hit the road with two Portuguese tours and for the release of the debut EP “Paris, Los Angeles”.
One year later, the musician renews his visual aesthetics and “No Ordinary Love” comes up to start a new cycle for the project. The song gets nominated one of the best national alternative songs of 2020 and the year ends with the release of another EP “Late Night Nostalgia”.
Remaining always loyal to his sound, goldcobra comes back in 2022 with “Juno”, a debut in songwriting in Portuguese and finally “Thunder Nights”.
Combining more than ever his 80’s musical influences with a pop and modern attitude, the year of 2024 was reserved for the presentation of “Hurricane”, one of the songs from his debut album “OUTRUN”, released in 2025. Renewing his skin once again, Marcos Alfares now brings with him a Pop hand in hand with bolder and more modern Electronics, without ever renouncing its usual Rock and Synthwave influences from the 80s’.
goldcobra is a voyage through the golden 80's where it gives life to a universe full of nostalgia and velvety synthesizers.
