Golden Alphabet is mostly formed around the efforts of multi-instrumentalist and recording artist, Tommy Cormier. Over the years, the project has morphed to become a vehicle for solo efforts and collaborations alike.
Started in Tucson, Arizona in 2003. Golden Alphabet now records, performs and collaborates mostly in Brooklyn, NY. Along the road there have been many members and iterations from solo project to 5-Piece band to large form collective. All the shapes Golden Alphabet takes forces this project to prioritize the moment.
The band lineup is currently structured around Tommy Cormier, bassist and vocalist, Kendra Kovarik, mutli-instrumentalist, Timmy Minker and Drummer/multi Instrumentist, Elliott Abaza. Previous primary members include Derek Smith and Nate Jasensky and many others.
Golden Alphabet is influenced by various aesthetics of indie-psych, folk, post-punk, americana, country, various non-western world music, and baroque pop.
The project has an open door policy when it comes to collaborations and contributions.
