Good Grim is the art-rock solo project led by Utah-based musician, Trevor Free. Free first emerged under the dream-pop duo, Sister Adolescent , crafting a style rooted in hazy synths combined with post-rock crescendos. Good Grim, while still rooted in reverberated and lush instrumentals, finds a darker atmosphere drawing influences from art-rock acts like Portishead, Bjork, Radiohead and Low. "Roomates" was Good Grim's second single release in preparation for the LP, Enchantment, with the slow-burning ballad, "Fear of God" being the first to release in March. Free wrote and tracked all songs from 2020-2021 either in his home in Utah, or with long-time collaborator, Eric Robertson ( New Shack ) at Pleasant Pictures Studios, also in Utah. Robertson produced and mixed all of the tracks on the upcoming record, with the exception of the efforts from Seattle based drummer, Seth Ringger, tracking drums from his home studio. Enchantment released in January of 2022.
