Grace Anne Holden was born and raised in Bemidji, Minnesota. She spent the past several years touring the world as a background dancer for a mainstream artist before landing in NYC and finding her way back to writing songs. Early on, she learned to play songs on the piano by copying her older sister, whose influences included Yann Tiersen, Philip Glass and Tori Amos. Grace studied trumpet under, Ron Brown, in Bemidji, MN and joined his band, The Brass Matrix, along with other young horn players in her adolescence. Her current compositions and lyrics are heavily influenced by the natural surroundings of her hometown, her many teachers, and the artists in her family. Her music is equally inspired by playing trumpet and collaborating in the band, Red Mountain, in Duluth, MN.
