Gramie

Gramie is a Tanzanian singer, songwriter, and dancer whose bright fusion of bongo flava and catchy Afro-pop helped establish him in the African mainstream in the late 2020s. A solo artist and multi-instrumentalist, he has earned particular acclaim for "Jifiche," one of several collaborations with Barnaba Classic, as well as his expansive 2020 debuted song, Homa, Nimenasa, Asante, Warida and Nimenasa Volume II.
Born Hamza Abdallah Mchuchuri and sometimes known as 69, Gramie debuted in 2022 with "Jifiche," a sunny and melodic single which he followed up in 2022 with "Warida," his first collaboration with fellow Tanzanian Barnaba classic. The song earned multi-streaming on all digital platforms around the world. Additional singles like "Asante" and "Jifiche" followed, but it was 2022 hooky "Nimenasa volume I," again with Dayoo, that served as his breakthrough hit. The 2022 club hit "Nimenasa Volume II, with Baddest 47, continued to expand his popularity in advance of Afro Bongo, Gramie's debut song, which arrived a year later.
