Granite & Green is a San Francisco based rock trio featuring Shaun David, Dean DeCastro, and Brandon Bigelow. After forming in the summer of 2017, they have finished their debut album with Alex James Muscat at 7th Chord Studio. "Born in the Summer" was released on January 17th, 2020.
After making 3 EP's together, singer/songwriter/guitarist Shaun David and drummer Dean DeCastro's direction changed when Brandon Bigelow joined the group. David and DeCastro's previous 3 EPs were released under a different name, Shaun David & the Lost, and focused more on a folky acoustic pop/rock feel. The three EPs (Super Baby, Songs By Mistake, Ugly Men) also featured somewhat of a rotating cast with many talented friends and studio musicians giving a very eclectic sound to each EP.
Enter Bigelow and the scene changes. A simple rock trio. From folky acoustic pop to distorted guitars, big bass lines and dynamic drums. Bigelow and DeCastro are a huge part of the arrangement of these songs, taking pieces that David writes on an acoustic guitar and transforming them into true collaborative works.
After shows at PianoFight, Neck of the Woods, and Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco, the trio now looks to play live in support of their debut "Born in the Summer."
