Born to a creative family of writers and musicians, Grant Pavol, who taught himself to play guitar as a teen, has always been surrounded by music and art. Emerging from the Philadelphia underground scene, Pavol has honed a unique style, blending simple, often darkly humorous lyricism (a la Lou Reed and Bill Callahan) with eclectic and instrumentals centered on droning, finger picked guitar. The result is a singular sound still audibly rooted in the American songwriting tradition; instantly recognizable yet oddly familiar.
