Athens, Georgia-based brothers Mat and Ryan Lewis had played together in a variety of bands including <a href="spotify:artist:1yjWjKvyOrQ12vTTIZ8f2O">the Buddy System</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5fVusHPqfdY5Cm2BDtfJxq">the Agenda</a> before stripping things down and forming Grape Soda in the fall of 2008. Mat played keyboards and sang while Ryan handled drum duties, and the songs took on a spare approach to art-informed indie pop with hints of both the duo's garage rock past and the Technicolor psych-pop of their Athens surroundings. Following a few CD-R and cassette releases, the band's first album, Form a Sign, arrived in late 2012 on the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Kindercore%22">Kindercore</a> label. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
